Kenko Corporation announced the release of 10mm and 16mm DG extension tubes set designed for providing macro capabilities to lenses built for Micro Four Thirds and NEX mount.
This set of extension tubes can either be used individually (10mm or 16mm) or combined together (the 10mm + 16mm ones). They do not have any optical part but enable lens optics to be farther away from sensor which provides as a result a magnification of image.
The DG extension tubes have full electronic connections which enables lens to operate as usual in terms of focus, exposure and EXIF reading.
The weight of the 10mm tube is of 48 grams and the 16mm tube is of 70 grams for the Micro Four Thirds Compact System Camera Mount and 75 grams for the Sony E-Mount system used in Sony NEX compact system cameras.
In this example it can be seen the macro capabilities provided by the Kenko DG extension tubes for Micro Four Thirds and Sony Nex Compact System Cameras:
The price for each tube is of around 200 EUR in Europe and 200 USD in North America.
