Daisuki Photo has made a comparison review of the Voigtlander 17.5mm F0.95 lens with the Fuji X100. For the test he used a Panasonic GH2 Micro Four Thirds Compact System Camera and the Fuji X100 camera.
A total of five photos have been taken with the following setup:
- Voigtlander 17.5mm wide open at F0.95
- Fujifilm X100 wide open at F2
- Voigtlander 17.5mm at F2
- Fujifilm X100 at F4
- Voigtlander 17.5mm at F4
All photos have been post processed for the exposure and temperature and we can find the photos below:
The conclusions do not differ from expected. Even though the Voigtlander is a fast lens when focusing at distant objects there is depth of field even if with an aperture of F0.95 and difference between sensor sizes is hardly noticed in such cases. When shooting closer objects depth of field starts to become more and more shallow as aperture opens. Also something of notice is the strong vignetting of the Voigtlander 17.5mm F0.95 lens when wide open.
Bokeh provided by both lens is quite nice and appealing.
