We have information from an anonymous source that Sigma and Tamron are going to release lenses for both Micro Four Thirds and Sony NEX Compact System Cameras this summer. Announcement should take place before Photokina 2012 starts being likely for announcement to be done at end of August.
A 12-35mm F2.8 Lens to be released by Sigma for Micro Four Thirds and Sony NEX Compact System Cameras
Sigma is rumored to be releasing a 12-35mm F2.8 lens based on the 17-50mm F2.8 OS lens and is going to be a very serious contender for the Panasonic 12-35mm F2.8 X lens. The construction is based will be similar to the 17-50mm F2.8 OS lens providing a full frame equivalent focal length of 24-70mm in Micro Four Thirds sytem and 18-52.5mm full frame equivalent focal length in the Sony NEX system.
There are not yet any photos divulged of the lens but quality should be similar as produced from sample photos of the 17-50mm F2.8
As for the price of the Sigma 12-35mm F2.8 lens it is expected to be competitive and costing less than the Panasonic counterpart with a sales price of around $750 USD.
A 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 lens to be released for Micro Four Thirds Compact System Cameras
As for Tamron it has already released a 18-20mm F3.5-6.3 Di III VC lens for the Sony NEX system and it is expected to launch the very same lens for Micro Four Thirds this Summer. Price of the 18-200 F3.5-6.3 lens for the Micro Four Thirds Compact System Cameras is expected to be similar to the one for the Sony NEX selling for around $800 USD.
Tamron to Release a Macro Lens for Sony NEX and Micro Four Thirds Compact System Cameras
Besides the release of the 18-200 mm F3.5-6.3 Lens for Micro Four Thirds system that have a full frame equivalent focal length of 36-400mm Tamron is expected to release as well a macro lens based on the SP 60mm F2.0 Di II LD lens for both Micro Four Thirds and Sony NEX Compact System Cameras. The 60mm F2.0 lens for sure will be rivaling with the Olympus 75mm F1.8 lens with an extra flexibility of being able to use it as a macro lens and portrait. For the Sony NEX system will also be a great addition providing for the NEX lineup a very much needed fast aperture portrait and macro lens.

2012 seems to be the year of the Compact System Cameras with many new cameras and lenses released that start to rival and sometimes surpass DSLRs in terms of image quality.
